Water Heater Cost Guides by City

What our book prices come to in each city we serve, and what moves the number. Prices current as of September 2026.

Water Heater Cost Guides by City

We publish our book prices: a gas storage tank replacement is $1,595 for 30 or 40 gallons and $1,795 for 50, an electric replacement $1,450 or $1,675, and a tank-to-tankless conversion $3,295 or $3,695, installed. The pricing page has the whole list. These guides explain where the rest of a quote comes from, and what is different in each city we serve: the permit office and its fee, the water, and the housing the heater is in.

Book prices apply during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM; pricing outside those hours or in an emergency is subject to change. Prices are current as of September 2026 and subject to change, and every quote is in writing before any work starts.

What Sets Us Apart

Why We Publish Our Prices

A water heater fails at the worst possible time, and that is exactly when a homeowner is easiest to overcharge. Publishing the book takes that off the table, and these guides say what changes from one city to the next.

The Quote Is the Price

Every job is priced in writing before work starts. If something on site changes the number, you hear about it before we touch it.

Diagnostic Fee Waived

The storage tank and tankless diagnostics are both waived when we do the repair or replacement.

One-Year Labor Warranty

Every connection we make carries a one-year labor warranty, and the unit carries its manufacturer's warranty on top.

Licensed and Permitted

CSLB #1004038. We pull the permit and stand the inspection so the strapping, pan, venting and expansion tank all pass.
