Water Heater Prices in Pico Rivera, CA
What a Water Heater Costs in Pico Rivera and the Surrounding Areas
Most water heater companies make you book a visit to find out what a job costs. We publish our book prices instead. Replacing a 30- or 40-gallon gas tank is $1,595 and a 50-gallon is $1,795, installed. Converting that tank to a Noritz tankless unit is $3,295 or $3,695. A diagnostic visit on a storage tank is $99, waived if we do the work. The tables below carry every book price we have, and the items marked “quoted on site” are the ones that genuinely depend on the house.
Book prices assume a same-location swap of an existing residential water heater at ground level, in the garage or on the side of the house, during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Pricing outside those hours or in an emergency is subject to change. A second-floor or indoor unit, a commercial building, a relocation or a first-time installation is quoted in person, and every quote is in writing before any work starts. Prices are current as of September 2026 and subject to change. If the number is more than you planned for, financing is available.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to replace a water heater in Pico Rivera?
At book price, $1,595 for a 30- or 40-gallon gas tank and $1,795 for a 50-gallon, installed. That includes delivery, draining and removing the old unit, a new Bradford White or A. O. Smith tank, new hot and cold supply lines, a one-year labor warranty on the connections and the six-year manufacturer’s warranty. An electric replacement is $1,450 or $1,675. Add-ons are priced separately: haul away is $95, a permit is a $295 administrative fee plus the city’s cost, earthquake straps are $225 and a drain pan is $75.
How much does a tankless water heater cost?
Converting an existing 40-gallon tank to a Noritz EZTR40 is $3,295, and a 50-gallon tank to an EZTR50 is $3,695. Both include new supply lines, a gas supply line and isolation valves. Those two models use the existing water heater hookups, which is why they have a book price. Any other tankless brand or model needs its own gas line sizing and venting, so it is quoted on site.
Do you charge a diagnostic or service call fee?
Yes, and it is waived if we do the work. A storage tank diagnostic is $99. A tankless diagnostic is $299 and includes a full descale flush, because scale is behind most tankless faults. Members get diagnostics free when a repair is needed.
Do book prices apply on nights, weekends and in emergencies?
Book prices apply during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with appointments made at least 24 hours in advance. We still take evening, weekend and emergency calls, but pricing outside normal hours or in an emergency is subject to change, so we quote it when you call. Members pay the standard book price for after-hours work.
Is the permit included in the price?
No. Permits are a $295 administrative fee plus whatever the city charges, and that includes standing the inspection. You can decline and pull your own permit, in which case any code correction the inspector calls for is charged at book price.
What warranty comes with the work?
A one-year labor warranty on every connection we make. The unit itself is covered by its manufacturer’s warranty: six years on the Bradford White and A. O. Smith gas tanks we install at book price. A manufacturer warranty repair on a storage tank is $425, covering the repair, diagnostic and flush with warranty-supplied parts.

Why We Publish Our Prices
A water heater fails at the worst possible time, and that is exactly when a homeowner is easiest to overcharge. Publishing the book takes that off the table. You can see what the job should cost before anyone is standing in your garage, and the number we quote in writing is the number on the invoice.
